Regardless of individual ambition, comprehensive and regular training is an integral part of the company’s philosophy for all staff, with training systems reviewed, refreshed and amended regularly to meet the specific needs of each client site, and to ensure that our staff are being given every opportunity for 360° development.  

Every new staff member undergoes an induction course; a mixture of classroom based training and on site practice which gives an overview of Casna and Casna Clients and imparts the basic skills that new employees need in the workplace.

Thereafter training is continuous.

Technical training is delivered to the high standards you would expect from Casna. All staff have  training in general customer service, health and safety, hazardous substances, specific job skills (e.g. use of machinery), manual handling and familiarity with designated working sites.

All Cleaning Operatives are, as an absolute minimum, trained to BICs level 1 with appropriate health and safety training (including COSHH and manual handling). They are trained on all equipment and equipment handling (via Safe Work Procedures) and we use our memberships to the BICSc to help us stay abreast of innovative techniques and best practice. Specialised Operatives have additional operative training such as IPAF High Level cleaning, Carpet Cleaning, Stone Restoration, Marble Care and Housekeeping, plus Health & Safety and Emergency First Aiders for supervisors.

For our supervisors and managers the Personal Development & Leadership programme goes beyond what is required or usual even for large scale cleaning companies. The programme, delivered through our own Leadership Academy, comprises formalised training (monthly sessions) underpinned by regular Leadership Days featuring renowned motivational speakers and trainers who use inspirational real life studies or teach teamwork, leadership and strategy.  This is supplementary to normal training such as Supervisory Skills and designed to lift our managers’ leadership skills to well above the industry norm.
